Computer upgrades at home

An older computer may benefit from a carefully chosen upgrade, but buying parts before checking compatibility can waste money. The service assesses the practical need, explains the option and fits only parts that you have approved.

Price and visit terms

£60 service price plus approved parts and the £40 home call-out

The computer-upgrade service is £60 plus the £40 home call-out. Every replacement part is quoted separately and fitted only after approval. If an attempted local repair cannot be completed, the approved unsuccessful-visit terms apply.

Payment is by cash or bank transfer.

Before the appointment

What to have ready

Provide the computer make and exact model if available, plus its power lead. Do not order a part solely from a general description because compatibility must be checked.

Questions

About computer upgrades

Are upgrade parts included in the £60 price?
No. £60 is the upgrade service price. The £40 home call-out and the separately approved cost of compatible parts also apply.
Is every older computer worth upgrading?
No. The age, condition, compatibility and intended use all matter. Ephrun will explain honestly when replacement appears more practical.
Should I buy an SSD or memory before the visit?
Wait until compatibility and need have been checked unless you already have a confirmed suitable part. Unapproved purchases may not fit or solve the problem.
